When using feeders or food plots to draw deer in, don't hang your stand directly at the feeder/food plot. Instead, choose a location affording good cover and concealment on a well used trail leading to the feeder or plot. This accomplishes two things:

• You don't spook game at the feeder or out in the food plot when you shoot. This may turn any other deer at the feeder or plot nocturnal.

• The bigger bucks will hold back close to the feeder/plot until after dark. You could get a chance at a better buck while they're in this “holding” area.
