When using feeders or food plots to
draw deer in, don't hang your stand directly at the feeder/food plot.
Instead, choose a location affording good cover and concealment on a
well used trail leading to the feeder or plot. This accomplishes two
things:
You don't spook game at the feeder
or out in the food plot when you shoot. This may turn any other
deer at the feeder or plot nocturnal.
The bigger bucks will hold back
close to the feeder/plot until after dark. You could get a chance at
a better buck while they're in this “holding” area.
